For months I have been exploring sculpture as a component of my series, The Archaeology of Regret. The ‘Timelines’ I created are sculptures of what the future may find when it digs down through the earth in future centuries. I suspect they will find a lot of garbage. While I continue with ‘Regret’, I digress to a new series called Luna.
On a clear night, you can see an incredible number of stars where we live. Which makes anyone feel small. It makes me think too of how our sense of ourselves has become greater now than in any other point in history. Hence this period’s name, Anthropocene.
Luna has become a simple study in form. Shapes that I created for the sake of making photographs. But they became of interest in themselves for their simplicity and amusement as small sculptures. I think this project has endless possibilities and I will continue this exploration.
