Stapling Colour Together is a form of therapy, it’s a colouring book. The stress of selling a home in Italy is insane, it is a lot to handle.
So I’ve created these watercolours for comfort to help me piece life together, to staple them as it were.
They’re peaceful undefined shapes that hold colour. Colours that make me happy or contemplative or whatever. What they do is take my mind off of things. ( They occupy my hands when I am waiting for something to happen that I can’t control…)
We are going through a difficult time, personally, culturally, socially, the world as a whole and these shapes are made to comfort and to help us understand.
I think colour field painting is the most peaceful act of visual creation. You can simply trigger emotion in a peaceful manner. Rothko knew it. Stanley Whitney knows it, Sean Scully, Gerhard Richter, Cy Twombly too, they all use limited forms to trigger feelings or thoughts in anyone. How great and how universal is that.
There is no hate here, no caste, only what you are in that moment.
